A touch screen kiosk that prints postcards from Instagram

Share-to-PrintInstagram is cool for a variety of reasons, not least of which because it’s a hugely popular social media community that lives entirely online. That is, it did. OM Digital hired us for a project that brought Instagram into real life. The Share-to-Print touch screen kiosk allows users to print custom branded images from Instagram.

For our part, we led product design efforts, from designing and developing an interactive touchscreen interface to writing compelling instructional copy. The result was a fun kiosk that people passing by could use to bring their digital Instagram images to life, right in front of their eyes. Their image goes from Instagram post to tangible keepsake in an instant.

The value:

In addition to designing and developing the front-end interface, we also closely collaborated with OM Digital’s engineers to address both front-end and back-end development integration. And last but not least—we also provided content strategy and copywriting for the project, ensuring the use of the kiosks was easy and fun to use.

The results:

Not only did we see hashtag usage climb organically as a result of the Share-to-Print project, but the kiosks were also used in a variety of other well-populated places, from Sweetlife Festival to Fotoweek and more.
